Key features
Versatile focal range with outstanding optical performance
By taking advantage of the latest optical design technologies, the SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II | Art has improved optical performance and increased resolution throughout the entire zoom range, ideal for use on modern high-resolution mirrorless cameras. Capture the world in stunning detail using the F2.8 aperture and impressive close-up focusing distance of 17cm to produce images with beautifully soft bokeh and pleasing background separation. These features paird with its fantastic low-light ability creates an ideal lens for using inany situation.
Impressive optical quality through the entire zoom range
Capture beautifully rendered images anytime, anywhere. The lens includes 6 FLD glass elements, 2 SLD glass elements, and 5 aspherical lens elements that thoroughly suppress various aberrations throughout the entire zoom range. Sagittal coma flare and chromatic aberrations are also well controlled across the entire frame so that images are clear and free from colour fringing. The 5 aspherical lens elements have been optimized to be thin and highly polarized to help reduce the overall size of the lens whilst maintaining optical quality.
Excellent close-up capabilityThe lens has excellent close-up capability with a minimum focusing distance of 17cm atthe wide end and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7. This is useful when composing close-up shots of a subject, or when shooting in locations where space is limited. |

Designed to minimise flare and ghostingFlare and ghosting have been largely eliminated thanks to the use of special Nano Porous and Super Multi-layer Coatings applied to the front optic of thelens. The lens’s optical construction provides strong backlight resistance for clear and sharp images under any lighting conditions.
Minimal focus breathingThe lens has been designed to suppress focus breathing. The change in angle-of-view due to focus shift across the entire zoom range is minimised, creating natural-looking focus pulls when recording video. |

Expanded feature set and improved portability
To bring the SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II | Art in line with recent developments found on other SIGMA lenes, the lens now includes a de-clickable aperture ring, aperture lock switch and two customisable AFL buttons. Even with these additional features, the lens is approximately 7% smaller in size and 10% lighter than its predecessor.
Equipped with an aperture ringThe lens is equipped with a de-clickable aperture ring that provides direct control of the aperture when capturing stills and adjusting exposure on the fly when shooting video. An aperture lock switch is also provided to prevent accidental changes. |

Highly portable lens body
Thanks to advancements in optical design and lens construction, the 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II | Art has been reduced in size by approximately 7% and in weight by 10%. With a length of 120.2mm and weighing only 745g*, the lens can be used in any photographic situation and easily transported. Perfect for photographers who require lightweight kit without compromising image quality.
Equipped with two AFL buttons
The lens is equipped with two AFL buttons* that can be assigned to a range of functions via the menu on compatible cameras, one more than the previous version of the lens. The additional button has been positionedon the top of the lens barrel so that it can be easily accessed when shooting portraits.
A wealth of professional functions
In addition to high-speed AF with HLA (High-response Linear Actuator), the SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II | Art has a full range of features including a dust and splash resistant structure*, water and oil repellent coating, aswell as a zoom lock switch. The lens delivers the best possible results in every shooting situation.
* The structure is designed to be dust and splash resistant, but not waterproof. Be careful not to bring the lens in contact with a large amount of water. Water inside the lens may cause major damage and even render the lens unrepairable.
Incorporating a linear motor HLA
The lens incorporates a linear HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) motor for the AF actuator. The high output HLA has increased the maximum drive speed to more than three times faster than the previous model*.
* Compared by the maximum drive speed of the SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II | Art with that of the SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN | Art (It is different from the actual time for AF to focus)
Weather resistant structureIn addition to a dust and splash resistant structure, the front element of the lens features a water and oil repellent coating, allowing users to shoot without concerns even in harsh outdoor environments.
Equipped with a zoom lock switchThe lens is equipped with a zoom lock switch that locks the lens at 24mm to prevent the barrel from extending unintentionally under its own weight. The lock can be released by using the switch or by simply zooming the lens, ideal for reacting to impromptu photo opportunities.
Including a petal-type hood with lockA dedicated petal-shaped hood is supplied. A locking mechanism is provided for secure attachment. |
